I love the irony of a fashion model who's modeled for Calvin Klein, Donna Karen and Louis Vuitton winning her division in a tournament sponsored by G&L. It's also a good illustration of the variety of backgrounds that DG'ers come from.
Something that she focused on in the article that I also found funny for similar reasons was how inviting people were to her. Really, a fashion model being treated well and encouraged in a sport dominated by men? Who'd have thunk it? Though in reality her experience is the norm rather than the exception in my experience. Who hasn't run into someone that plays leagues or tournaments who hasn't said something like, "We play here on Tuesdays, you should totally come," or "There's a tournament here in a couple weeks, you should totally come." It's like all players have this feeling of ownership of the sport as if it were the band that they're in.

what is wrong with playing good and moving up divisions and making yourself a better player. She is out playing and practicing all the time, if you practice and listen to better players you will learn and become a better player. who cares what you wear on the course, dressing nice is just gonna help build the sport and get more sponsors involved. I personally wear a polo shirt every tournament, it is what I like to play in.... I think instead of being on the computer hating you should suck it up and go to the course and practice... I get messed with all the time because I took first in rec, intermediate, advanced, and just played my first open tournament to finish 5th. I am not the best but if you put in the work you can play solid golf. Lets not hate lets appreciate.... keep up the work Holly and keep giving these haters something to talk about

This is not what I expected. I thought somebody got their disc returned or something. This is better because it combines two of my favorite interests.
