DGPT: 2020 MVP Open at Maple Hill Sept 11-13

Paiges "practice round" video is really well made, the best of these type of videos i´ve seen

Watching the Jomez coverage of R1 with Jones, Gurthie, McMahon and Newsom... Garrett and KJ looking smooth, especially GG.

So GG shoots 8 under. Recorded as 7 under but still is forced to take another shot penalty cause the score was miss-recorded higher?

That's got to be the dumbest rule I've ever heard of. If you are recorded a shot worse that is already a penalty, no need to add salt to the wound. I understand it's the players responsibility..... It's just a dumb rule. I could see if it was recorded as less then dock him an extra shot, but not the other way.

Just seems like a way a devious player keeping score could screw someone over if they were that evil.

Dumb question: Are players still keeping score on DGPT, or is the volunteer keeping the official score on U-Disc? I honestly haven't noticed players keeping score this year.

Normally, a scoring error is a two-stroke penalty. Ultimately, the players are responsible for reporting their correct score. I've always liked the idea of everyone on the card double checking the official card prior to turning it in. That way, any errors are on clearly the fault of the player.

But if the players have been removed from the scoring process, I don't see how it's fair to penalize them for someone else's mistake.

So true.
I'm watching the round on DGPT and as the lead card was getting ready to tee of on hole 1 Steve Dodge announced something about the scores being kept by U-Disc.
I bet there are some/many players who just assume the score keeper will get it right and doesn't bother keeping track of their own score.

I too have not noticed the players even keeping score, which would be doubly worse in this scenario like you said. They could be but I am unsure.

And married life often adds plenty of stress in itself.

Especially when your wife is pregnant and you're a pro disc golfer and probably freaking out a little bit about how life is going to work.

(Tell me I'm not the only one noticing how Hannah is suddenly dropping out of tourneys "to do commentary")

Dodge does say to the players something like..."the scorekeeper will announce your score after each hole".
So if we assume that the scorekeeper announced GG's score after every hole and the GG agreed with that score every time, I wonder what went wrong?
