i love my pearly flat top starfire. its great it headwinds and i use it all the time throwing over the lake at Buckhorn (NC). plus its just a beautiful disc. haha. too bad i can hardly find any of these anymore. every starfire i find now is so domey and stiff.
Horniblow's Tavern (Big Boss Brewery), Natty Green's, Tobacco Road Sports Bar and Grill has great food, try some of the LoneRider Brewing Co. beers...shotgun betty is awesome, The Artisan is having its grand opening on Glenwood Avenue this weekend...12 beers on tap, all craft beers, supposed to...
I do love Buckhorn! And I recently came across some nice coupons for the PIAS in Durham, they are for 5 bucks off any purchase, so that's a sweet discount on a disc.
I totally agree with you about some of the guys taking the good used ones! I hear some of the guys there were/are pretty good...
the play it again sports in crossroads cary is a big rip off, the one in raleigh is so much better and the guys are nicer. the dude in cary always gives me this long story of how he used to be pro and junk. his used disc selection and prices are never that great. and the last time i went almost...
Same pair. They hold up wonderfully. After a year and a half I'm just now having a few seams look loose, but absolutely nothing that makes me need a new pair any time soon (unless I just decide I want a new pair for the heck of it which is a big possibility).
i've played almost every round since may/june 2009 in my vibram fivefingers sprints and have put some running mileage on them as well as a ton of casual wear and I am a firm believer in the minimal/barefoot research. I work at a small sporting goods store in NC where we sell vibrams now and they...
The Montrail Hardrock is money, it's stiff with a rock protection plate in the sole which makes it hold up great for disc golf...the ones i'm speaking of are, however, about 2 to 3 years old...Montrail has completely revamped their shoes and their styles so quality could have changed.
Also...
i have 2 kc pro teebirds ill get rid of...stamps barely readable on both and both have ink but no cuts or nicks at all, one clear-yellowish, one pearly bluish-green. both 17-g, needs to be weighed.
any interest?
These are pretty cool sources for reading up on the facts/pros/cons of barefoot running, etc. I chose the five fingers for the simple fact that they just add a second skin under your foot made of vibram rubber for some added protection from rocks, roots, etc. The sprints, like I have, use a...
I use them for the majority of the rounds I play. Not the treks but the sprints, I've had them for a year now and they are like my go-to footwear for being outside, disc golf, fishing, you name it. I do a little running in them, nothing over 3 miles though yet. i like them as my disc golf...
lightning #2 driver is a disc i use even on holes where no water comes into play. great disc. also, if you try a dragon, be careful, they can have minds of their own, I have to crazy hyzer flip mine just to keep it somewhat straight.
been contemplating on adding a TL to my arsenal...would like to try one and wouldnt mind trading for one instead of paying the local ~17 bucks for it.
Would like the condition to match the condition what I trade.
I mainly have innova. Can't decide what to trade so if you have a TL you're...
Thanks for all of the responses so far! Learned a lot. I've never stopped to think on windy days that a different disc would help and almost every drive I have is on the understable side of the charts so I will look into a FL or Firebird and try to get used to my Starfire. I'm thinking about...
Thanks for everything so far! Sounds like I could use a TL somewhere in there. And yeah, I do need a good headwind driver. I have a 165g pearly champ starfire...haven't thrown it yet. Should I go with it as my windy day driver or should I grab a Firebird/FL/Pred?
...a Star TL. I have always wanted one. I get my teebirds, orc, and valk all to approx. 300ft give or take depending. Most accurate with my valk.
Unless I just wanted to and had the extra money is there a spot for a TL in my bag?
Thanks guys!
